Oscar Extravaganza! Who Are Your Academy Award Picks?

Picking your favorites for the Academy Awards is always a crap shoot. But I still love to play along. Tonight Mr. Red Hot Copy and I are going to the House of Blues to watch the Oscars. I've put my picks in italic red, although truthfully I haven't seen many of the movies this year. That isn't like me but it was tough to choose between leaving my cozy home or fighting traffic and people at a movie with no guarantees of entertaining. Ah well. Enjoy!

You know I'm about the least Hollywood person you know - but I'm a sucker for Oscar Day. Yes, I set aside the entire day to watch the full coverage, before, during, after. One of my guilty pleasures.

So naturally I was interested in your picks. And naturally I don't totally agree...So here are a couple I think will go my way:

Actor - Leading
Peter O'Toole - he's the sentimental favorite and this could be his last chance. So I think he'll get the vote.

Sound Mixing - Apocalypto. The nominee has been up 9 times and needs the win.

So while you and Mr Red Hot will be rubbing elbows with "The Crowd" I'll be at home, keeping score.

Have a great time - can't wait to see the pictures!

"Guilty pleasure" - Yup, that's exactly what it is. So frivolous, but so darn watchable!

Okay, I hear you on Peter O'Toole. But I'm just wondering if Mel Gibson can overcome his anit-Semitic rant from the summer in a biz run by Jews. I'm just saying. ;) Hopefully personal vendattas won't rage on. What am I saying? This is HOLLYWOOD. We aren't exactly known for being deep. LOL

It was great to see you at the Wonder Women of the Web, by the way!

I like to say that the Oscars are my Super Bowl...not to be missed, and with much better outfits! I'm getting ready to go to a friend's annual event where you have to dress up and bring food that is inspired by a nominated film. We all pony up for the Oscar pool and vote on whose dish is the night's best.

Can't wait to see your pictures from the VIP soiree!
